Yay you all made it, you finished your first month of school. Here is the final post of my “Back to God” series!
This post is all about our spiritual priorities, responsibility’s, and managing your time with God. Sometimes in our busy lives we get distracted in hustle and bustle of our schedules and daily routines. You have jammed pack days fulled with events and appointments, but when you lay your head down to sleep that night did you spend time with God that day?
Sometimes sitting down and finding a quiet time to connect with God can be challenging. ” Well I have to finish my homework” “I”ve been gone all day and got home late” The excuses not to spend time with God are infinite, but none of them are good enough. You shouldn’t feel bad if you get time to spend with God one day, but He wants you MAKE time! Even if it is a short prayer on your way to you next activity or a quick daily devotional! God is with you ALWAYS, He wants you to be with HIM too!
Lamentations 3:23- “Great is His faithfulness: His mercies are new every morning”
Psalm 118:24- “The LORD has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad in it”
Everyday is handcrafted-by God for you. Those days are filled with new hope, mercy and sometimes challenges for you to grow and learn from. Even in the darkest of times they will always be sometime to thank God for. Spend time to thank God for each day He has given you!
Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
2 Timothy 3:16- “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,”
Spending time with God shouldn’t just satisfy Him, it should satisfy you to! It should be your daily bread and fill your heart and mind to carry with you for all your days. The word is to guide and direct us, to be a light to our path, and show us how God wants us to live our lives in a clean and healthy way.
Besides praying, the Bible is the closest way we can connect to God. To gets us through the bad times and even the good times we need to hold on tight to the word and promises of He gives us. In the trials you face, He hopes that you let them grow closer to Him, knowing that those who pass through the evil of this word will be rewarded with everlasting life with God. It will all be worth it.
Yes getting our schoolwork done, and going to work, and some things of this world/life are important, but spending time with God should be your #1 priority. Gods wants you to have endurance and workmanship and to use your God given talents. But not when it starts effecting your time with Him, He wants you to know what your priorities should be. Should you read your daily devotional or check your social network? Hummm……
Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Matthew 6:6 -“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”
Matthew 6:24- “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”
2 Corinthians 5:9- ” So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.”
