Turning 16 is a monumental birthday because it is a year that most people take on more responsibility and grow in their strength and maturity. Its also an excuse to throw an major party and have a huge celebration!! So here is how to throw the best sweet 16 ever! I am giving you some tips and tricks for your sweet 16 or even just a special celebration!

Birthdays, a time to celebrate another year of life that God blessed you with. A special time to be reminded of all the amazing people God has surrounded you with. Last Saturday I celebrated my sweet 16, I had an amazing time with all my family and friends, I am so thankful and blessed, my heart feels so full! I love celebrating special events because I love throwing parties, taking pictures, and being with the ones I love! God wants us to celebrate and have fun!

” This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it” Psalm 118:24

Invite: This is a time to celebrate with the people who make you happy and who you enjoy being around! God has blessed you and surrounded you with amazing  people who care for you and love you. Invite them with a nice creative card either bought or made by you, or even an Evite. Evite’s are digital cards where you can pick a design, and email them, and it even lets your guests RSVP on the site!
Proverbs 17:17- ” A friend loves at all times”

Decorations: This is a time to go all out and decorate how you want for your special celebration. Decorate to your own personal style, with your favorite colors, patterns, and items! I decorated with my favorite colors, lots of balloons, banners, tassels, table decor, and all my favorite items. ( I got a lot of inspiration from Pinterest )

Activities: Whether it is going to shop, eat, site see, or even stay at home with your besties and watch movies, the entertainment is a large party of the party. Being the crafter that I am, of course we had to make crafts at my party! We made flower crowns and iron on transfer paper canvas bags. If your wanted to create something with your friends pick something where everyone can add their personal touch!

Food: Depending on what time your festivities are, determines what kind of food you will provide. My party started after breakfast and before dinner so we provide lunch and snacks! We made personal pizzas for lunch which is so fun to make with friends, and lets them make what they want!

  • And of course you have to have cake! ( or whatever dessert/sweets you like ) My amazing mother made me my favorite marble cake in round cake pans, stacked, iced in the middle and all around, and decorated with strawberries and topped of with some “16”  sparkler candles.

Photos: I love taking photos! So I wanted to incorporate that into my party! If you have a blank wall, decorate it like crazy, creating a simple and adorable photo background! We have a blank white wall that we project movies on in our playroom and we hung some cute garland on it and bought a bunch of balloons making the perfect photo background. My friends and I had a blast taking photos and polariods!

  • We took a lot of polariods along with out digital camera pics. Let your guests pick their favorite pose to take a picture of, then give them that polariod to take home!
